{"id":390,"date":"2018-10-21T11:10:03","date_gmt":"2018-10-21T15:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cosmictigre.com\/?p=390"},"modified":"2020-02-08T20:54:51","modified_gmt":"2020-02-08T20:54:51","slug":"bright-eyes-green-smoothie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dejachaniah.com\/test\/bright-eyes-green-smoothie\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Bright Eyes&#8217; Green Smoothie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I love smoothies.\u00a0 Growing up, I can vividly remember being resentful over my mother feeding me blended fruits and veggies instead of &#8216;normal&#8217; snacks.\u00a0 Once I realized that a smoothie was literally a blank canvas in a blender, that&#8217;s when my dislike faded, appreciation grew and soon became a bit of an obsession.\u00a0 There have been days where I&#8217;ve had a different smoothie for every meal, that&#8217;s how deep this love runs.\u00a0 I created this recipe one day when I woke up to an immediate feeling of dread and anxiety. After spending some time cleaning the kitchen while venting to my voice memos (my hands-free solution to journaling), I blended together a few of my favorite things and created what I like to call a &#8216;<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Bright Eyes<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8216; Green Smoothie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #9ec478;\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/2 banana\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/<\/span>3 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">cup (about 3<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">) strawberries<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/<\/span>2 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">cup pineapple<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 handful spinach<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 cup coconut <\/span>milk or coconut <span style=\"color: #000000;\">water<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/2 teaspoon turmeric (optional)<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 tablespoon oats (optional)<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #9ec478;\"><strong>Process<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Place all desired ingredients in your blender.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Blend to combine.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Taste. Adjust as needed.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #9ec478;\">*TIPS*:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. Freeze your bananas ahead of time! They help keep the smoothie cold in place of ice cubes and add a soft-serve-like creaminess.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I thought this was heaven! It&#8217;s creamy from the frozen banana, refreshing with the coconut <\/span>milk<span style=\"color: #000000;\">, and tangy from the pineapple and strawberries.\u00a0 I added the oats<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">and turmeric to make it more suited to my palate that day.\u00a0 The oats<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">bulked it up and kept me full when I had a lot of errands to run. The turmeric added antioxidants and helped to promote detoxification for that inner glow.
